Study the Bible One Verse at a Time

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

2 Timothy 3:16

If you want to get the most out of your new electronic device, you Google it, you read the manual,   you talk to your friends, you ask your kids for help, you join an Apple or Android group, but what about your life?   There are lots of self-help books that promise to improve your body, your mind, and your spirit, but as Christians we have a much better resource,  God’s Word, the Bible.

When the Bible was written it didn’t have chapters and verses.  Chapters came along in the 1200s and verses in the 1500s making it much easier to research and study the Word.   I believe every verse is important.   If we apply the Bible prayerfully, we can improve our lives, one verse at a time.

Paul wrote  the above verse in his second letter to Timothy around 50-60 AD, about 1,967 years ago.   You might think all that was true for Timothy, but I live in the world today, almost 2,000 years after that.   But, God’s word has miraculously lasted 6000 years, and this almost 2000 year old part is as true today as it was then.

If you want to live a better life filled with joy, hope, faith, and love, you can’t find a better guide than the Bible.  This is a Bible Study One Verse at a Time.  It can’t take the place of reading your Bible daily,  but it can supplement it.  Let’s make it a discussion.  Whenever you read a post please comment with your ideas, opinions, and questions.
