Romans 15:13 Image

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Two things should jump out at you from the above verses.  The first is that the source of hope is God.   This is exceedingly good news because God has promised all good things to those who believe in him. As Paul wrote, … my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19  Hope is definitely a need.  If you have no hope for the future, what is the purpose of living.   Those without hope are often despondent and depressed.   Hope for a future reigning with Jesus gives us purpose.

The next fact that should jump out at you  is that we can be overflowing with hope.  Now that is exciting.  Not just a little hope, not just a maybe tomorrow,  but overflowing with hope. How does it work?  God will fill you with joy and peace.  What do you have to do? Trust in Jesus.   Doesn’t seem like too big a burden.   Do you trust Him?  When you’re afraid, when you think you can’t go on, when you feel like you can’t handle things anymore, do you turn to God and believe he can do anything and He will give you the strength to keep going?  This is trusting Him.  And the verse says if you trust him, God will completely fill you with joy and peace and then you will overflow with confident hope, all by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We will explore hope in God’s Word with a number of articles that highlight hope. We will start with a Bible Verse on hope then give a short explanation peppered with a little opinion and some storytelling.   Below I will lists the posts on hope.  When you look at these posts I encourage you to comment so we can have a true discussion.
